my last journal is about two years old?!?!
i didn't even realise that i've been that inactive at dA recently. but i guess 6 deviations within the last 12 month speak for themself.

so whats been up recently?
spend a lot of time studiing, meeting friend and ... well ... simply living.
all this this "i do not want to spend much money on a new DSLR, so i work on film and scan it" didn't work out well. it simply takes to much time to develop and scan the film. time i could not afford.
so whats the solution?
i bought myself a new toy. its called Nikon D90, with a lot of features nobody realy needs (comeon, who realy wants to take videos with a dslr? thats what my cellphone's for ;o) )

actually the new camera payed off within 3 weeks, at least if you take the number of images took. i guess i took about 1000 pictures... thats nearly as much as i took on film the last two years!?!

i already did some testing with it. spend a day at 's and took some makingofs and some testshots.
than i went to rome (of course just to test the camera... nothing else )
i have to say there are a lot of things i love about that cam. the big viewfinder, the biger lcd and last but not least the great noise at higher isos. nice toy

but i don't want to bore you. so the gist of the matter: new pics coming soon!

i've been thinking about my prints recently. one question i came up with is if selling prints with a frame is a good thing, as you pay for white or black space.
so what do you thing about this? should i submit prints without any border in future?
any other suggestions to improve my prints?
what prints do you prefere?

i just realised that my last journal is nearly four month old. somehow it seems that time got a little booster.
actually quite a lot of things happend but not much concerning photography... till now: i recently bought a Nikon Coolscan V ED

so stay tuned! i think at the begining of april there'll be the first pictures (sounds like quite a long time but i'm at the baltic sea the next weeks)

well... i think the most things are said by the title
film developing is fun. film scanning is not. a least not with my scanner (microtek scanmaker 35t... quite a good scanner... 8 years ago...). so the scans aren't sharp, without any contrast, noisy... what ever. i'll visit Rage-against-myself and his coolscan next week...
i hope the darkroom will be finshed soon... although i think it'll take some time as university started again and everythings quite buisy.
geographics seems to be a great subject, although its a lot of new stuff to me.

i'll go to bejing on 2nd of november... yeeahhh... i'm realy looking forward to it.

so.. well thats all...
